Certified Personal Trainer

Certified Personal Trainer –
This certification qualifies you to enter the fitness industry with the confidence to provide basic fitness training services to the general population with the advanced knowledge of some rehab based considerations. With this certification, you can begin a career as a Certified Personal Trainer, either working for a health club or gym, or starting your own business.

Requirements:
NOTE: All ISFTA personal trainer certifications are now done ONLY through ISFTA instructors.

1. 18 years of age.
2. Valid and current CPR is recommended but not required.
3. Passing score of 85% on exam.
4. One of the following:
a. Attend an ISFTA personal training certification workshop.
b. Practical demonstration with an ISFTA Instructor.

What is the process to becoming certified?

As ISFTA continues to raise the standards in the industry, we have instituted the policy where you can only get your certification through one of the official ISFTA instructors. We believe that personal accountability will continue to improve the quality of instruction in the industry.
The first step is to register online or through one of our instructors. Upon successful registration, we will ship you all of the training materials. You will then be given the contact information for the 3 closest instructors to you. Your instructor will guide you through all aspects of study, including the quizzes at the end of each chapter, the practical demonstration portion of the program, and the exam process. When you complete the exam, your instructor will send your answer sheet, along with other requested paperwork to ISFTA for evaluation. You will know within 7-10 days if you passed or failed. If you fail the exam, you will be notified by US mail of your options to retake the exam.

If you would like to split your course fee into 2 payments, you can now get started at half the cost!! Just make the initial payment of $200.00 now and all of your materials will be sent to you. When you are ready to take the exam, you pay the final payment of $99.00. There are no additional fees. From the menu on the left, click on ISFTA store, and make your payment online. Your materials will arrive in a few days and you will be started on your career in the fitness industry!!!
