NEW CEU CLASSES FOR MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS!!

ISFTA is pleased to announce that we have been APPROVED to offer 4 CEU classes for medical professionals for 2010! Here is a breakdown of our approved CEU classes:

REHAB FITNESS SPECIALIST
This certification level is for the medical professional who is adding the components of fitness to their current medical training. Since a professional license in the medical field allows for the prescription of exercise, those holding a license as a physical therapist, PT assistant, occupational therapist, OT assistant, kinesiologist, physician, or athletic trainer will be EXEMPT from the practical portion of the exam. The written portion of the exam process must still be passed with a score of 90% or higher. In some cases, this certification is awarded to others who have a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

STABILITY BALL TRAINER

This class is designed to teach the medical or fitness professional how to use the stability ball in their clinical practice or with their fitness clients. This is a full day class and you will be on the ball ALL DAY. This class concludes with a 25 question multiple choice exam. A passing score of 90% is required to receive the certification of ISFTA Stability Ball Trainer.

THERA-FIT

This is our most unique class yet. This class is broken into 8 one hour sessions and is designed like a fitness boot camp. The difference is that during this class, the medical professional will also be learning about the muscles, body mechanics, posture, and other elements needed to maintain longevity in the field. If you are a therapist or other medical provider, you know how much the profession takes a toll on the body. This class is your way to fight back, get in shape, and protect your most valuable asset - your body!!

GETTING YOUR GAIT STRAIGHT

This class is a half-day class that is designed to teach the medical professional the elements of gait, and how to identify gait deviations. This is a fun, interactive class in which you might step in paint and walk on paper so the calss can analyze your steps. You might be one of the participants to test out the pressure marking, or even make an impression in the foot mold clay.

Please check out our upcoming classes from the home page to see when these exciting classes will be in your area!! If you have specific questions, or would like additional information, please e-mail us at info@isfta.com
